Wax
Pattern Production
The
process begins with producing wax replicas of the final casting
by injecting wax in to a metallic die.
Assembly
The
patterns are fastened by gate on a wax stick to make cluster
or assembly.
Shell
Building
This
involves dipping the entire assembly into a ceramic slurry
and then coating it with fine ceramic sand and repeating it
to form a self supporting shell.
Dewax
The
wax is melted out leaving a ceramic shell containing the cavities
in place of wax patterns.
